Neck lanyard: ALL neck lanyards have a breakaway clasp for safety and come in 2 available lengths*:
70cm – Can be easily lifted over the head without undoing the clasp.
54cm – Cannot be taken off without undoing the clasp
*Measured end to end opened out, as shown below; to check length, you can put a tape measure around the neck to see whether 54cm or 70cm will be more suitable.
Neck lanyard with metal clasp (suitable for Fidgi-Flips): These spare lanyards can be ordered with a small metal lobster clasp for an extra 50p. These are useful if you are wanting to use the lanyard with a card such as an ID card or a disability card. These are not necessary if the lanyard will be used with a chewy item.
Clip-on lanyard: These spare lanyards are roughly 15cm in length, measured from the wooden clip to the lanyard loop (please get in touch if you would like a custom length) and come with a pacifier-style clip made from wood and metal with nylon gripper teeth.
These clamp onto clothing and lock fast. Each clip is attached to the lanyard via snap fasteners (generally matched to the lanyard colour) which allow for versatility in terms of how you attach your chew using the lanyard.
Most people thread the loop through the chew, but some prefer to use the snap fastener so the chew can be slid up and down the lanyard.
Custom length lanyards: Some customers may want a longer or shorter length lanyard; adults in particular often prefer longer lengths. If you would like a custom length lanyard, please select this option and add a note to checkout with your specifications. For reference, a standard adult length lanyard would be 102cm (this is measured by opening the lanyard out and measuring in a straight line from end to end; you can check the length you would like by slinging a tape measure around your neck).
Black cord: Added on request! Plain black cords are a single long length of silk rattail cord and come with a breakaway clasp. These are easily cut to length. Simply undo the clasp and push the knot out of one half of the clasp. Retie the knot at your desired length and cut off the excess. See the video below for clarity!

Clip-on’s were created by myself as an alternative for those who are uncomfortable wearing necklaces or bracelets; these are also ideal for those with limited use of their hands and/or arms.
The clip is made of metal and wood and is easy to quickly clip on or unclip from clothing. The item can be clipped to any part of the clothing, such as on the shoulder, to allow the individual to reach the item with their mouth without assistance.
Although our sensory chew necklaces are fairly durable, they are by no means indestructible. Chews will show signs of wear and tear eventually and may need replacing in time. Some may find that their chew lasts for many many months without needing to be replaced and others may become damaged very quickly.
This is primarily dependant on the intensity and frequency of the individual’s chewing behaviours and unfortunately it is not possible to guarantee the length of time any individual chew will last. However, people chew in different ways and some shapes are more suitable for certain chewing styles than others.
If you are unsure which chew will be suitable for your needs, please do contact me and I will help you to make a selection, as some are stronger than others. Please understand this is not an exact science and sometimes it may just be a matter of trial and error to find the right chew!
At present Sensory Oojamabobs only dispatches items within the United Kingdom.
Shipping costs
Shipping starts from £2.95 for 2nd class post and £3.65 for 1st class post. The total shipping cost varies and will depend on how many Oojamabobs you purchase and the total weight of your overall order.
Shipping is FREE for orders over £30! Just enter FR3S30 at checkout.
How quickly can you get my order to me?
Chewy jewellery items are nearly always dispatched within 1 – 2 working days of your order being placed, as long as full order information is provided.
Standard items such as chewy jewellery and Fidgi-Flips will be already made and as such can be promptly dispatched.
Custom items
Clip-on lanyards, neck lanyards requested in custom lengths or any other custom request may take a little longer depending on the number of custom items currently being processed.
Dispatch times
Chewy Oojamabobs will be dispatched promptly, usually within 1 – 2 working days.
Custom items will take a little more time depending on how many orders I’m working through, but I will aim to get them out within 2 – 3 working days.
